Work with lists
Column widths and density are personal: what you change applies to you only and is stored on the server, so you find it again from another computer or browser.
Frozen headers
Section titled “Frozen headers”On screens wider than 768 px, a long list scrolls inside its own box, and the column titles and the filter row stay at its top. On narrower screens, the header scrolls with the page. There is nothing to do: this is on as soon as the module is enabled.
Only lists are affected. The lines of a record card (an invoice, for example) keep their usual display.
Change the width of a column
Section titled “Change the width of a column”Two ways:
- Drag. Move the mouse to the right edge of a column title, until the cursor changes, then drag left or right. A column can be from 40 to 1200 pixels wide.
- Pick a width. Click the ⋮ icon in the column title, then one of the four widths under Width: XS, S, M or L.
The width is remembered for this list page and for you, by column position: the invoice list and the third party list do not share widths. Two menu entries that open the same list page, such as customers and suppliers, share them. If you add or remove columns with Dolibarr’s column selector, click Reset columns so the widths do not shift onto other columns.
Hide a column
Section titled “Hide a column”- Click the ⋮ icon in the column title.
- Click Hide this column.
To show the column again, use Reset columns.
Reset columns
Section titled “Reset columns”On every screen that shows a list, two buttons sit at the bottom right of the page: Density and Reset columns. On screens narrower than 1024 px they show only an icon (≡ for Density, ↺ for Reset columns): hover over them to see their name.
Reset columns gives every column of the lists on the current page its original width back, and shows the hidden columns again. Lists on other pages keep their settings.
Change the density
Section titled “Change the density”Click Density at the bottom right of a list. The display switches between:
- Comfortable: Dolibarr’s usual line height.
- Compact: tighter lines, so more of them fit on the screen.
Your choice applies to all lists and is remembered for you. The density for users who never chose one is set by the administrator in Settings.
Back to your reading position
Section titled “Back to your reading position”Scroll down a list, open a record, then come back with the browser’s Back button: the list is scrolled where you left it.
The position is kept for the exact page address, in the browser tab you are working in. The Back to list link of a card opens a slightly different address, so the list starts at the top. Opening the list in a new tab also starts at the top.
