Show your own fields (extra fields)

Dieser Inhalt ist noch nicht in deiner Sprache verfügbar.

This page needs Empreinte 24.4.0 or later.

Dolibarr lets you add your own fields to documents. They are called complementary attributes in the English interface (Ergänzende Attribute in German, extrafields for short). A garage can add Brand, Model and Engine to its invoices, a builder can add a Site address, and so on.

From version 24.4.0, Empreinte can print these fields with the Label + value field block. Two kinds of fields are offered:

  • the complementary attributes of the document itself (the invoice, the quotation, and so on),
  • the complementary attributes of the customer (the third party of the document).

If your fields already exist, skip to step 2.

  1. Go to Home → Setup → Modules/Applications and open the settings of the module of the document, for example Invoices. For a field of the customer, open the settings of Third parties instead.
  2. Open the Complementary attributes tab, for example Complementary attributes (invoices) or Complementary attributes (third party).
  3. Click New attribute. Give it a Label (for example Brand), an Attribute code (for example brand) and a type (String suits most cases).
  4. Save, then repeat for each field.

The fields now appear on every invoice card (or customer card), where you fill them in.

  1. Open your template in the workshop (PDF templates, then click the template).
  2. In Add a block, click Label + value field.
  3. In Block properties, open Displayed value. Your complementary attributes are listed after the standard values, each preceded by what carries it, for example Customer invoice : Brand or Customer : Customer since.
  4. Pick the field, for example Customer invoice : Brand.
  5. Type the Label to print above the value, for example Brand, or leave it empty to print the value alone.
  6. Move and resize the block, and repeat for the other fields. Several Label + value field blocks side by side make a neat row: Brand, Model, Engine.
  7. Click Save, then Generate the PDF on a document.
  • Values are printed as Dolibarr shows them on the card, as plain text. For example, a list prints the label of the chosen option, not its code.
  • Boolean (checkbox) attributes print Yes or No, in the language of the PDF. Up to version 24.4.0, they printed nothing.
  • Attributes whose Visibility is 0 are not offered, since Dolibarr never shows them. Up to version 24.4.0, they were listed but always printed empty.
  • A field left empty on a document prints no value. The label you typed still prints, so leave the label empty if the field is often empty.
  • Separator attributes are not offered, as they hold no value.
  • If you delete a complementary attribute in Dolibarr, the blocks that showed it print an empty value. Point them to another field or remove them.

Version 24.3.0 and earlier cannot read complementary attributes. Until you upgrade, you can type the information in the public note of the document and print it with the Public note block.
