Alambic is a free Windows app to convert and edit video, audio, images, PDF and Word documents. Everything is computed on your computer: no file is uploaded, except when you download a video from a link and when an AI tool fetches its model the first time.
Current version: 0.2.0. Free and open source, under the GPL-3.0-or-later licence.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- Convert between dozens of formats: MP4, WebM, MOV, GIF, MP3, FLAC, PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, PDF, DOCX and more. Several files at once, with the same settings.
- Edit videos and images: crop, rotate, resize, blur a face or a number plate, add a logo or a text, trim, change speed, stabilise, reverse, fade, colour correction, filters, voice denoising.
- Presets: save a set of settings (for example Discord GIF 480p) and apply it again in one click. The Rendu tab shows a frame computed with all your settings, identical to the result.
- Tools usually found on websites: compress a video for Discord, remove metadata, download from a link, subtitle automatically, edit PDF pages, upscale an image, remove a background, separate voice and music.
