Ten font families are always available in the workshop: Helvetica, Times, Courier, DejaVu Sans, DejaVu Sans Condensed, DejaVu Serif, DejaVu Serif Condensed, DejaVu Mono, Free Sans and Free Serif. You can add your own, for example the font of your brand. They are embedded in the PDF, so your customers see them without installing anything.

Adding and removing fonts is reserved for administrators.

  1. In the top menu, click PDF templates, then Fonts in the left menu.

  2. Fill in the form:

    Field What to enter
Display name The name shown in the workshop, for example Brand Sans.
Identifier 2 to 32 letters or digits, no spaces, for example brandsans. Use the same identifier for every style of a family.
Style Regular, Bold, Italic or Bold italic.
.ttf or .otf file The font file, up to 4 MB.
  3. Click Add.

  4. Repeat for each style you need, with the same identifier: one file for regular, one for bold, and so on.

The font now appears in the Font list of the document style, and in the workshop the page is drawn with it.

Embedding a font in a PDF you send to customers is a use the font licence must allow. Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, such as most Google Fonts, allow it. For a commercial font, check its licence or ask its vendor.

Click Delete on the line of the font. Templates that used it fall back to Helvetica the next time a PDF is generated. PDFs already generated keep the font they were made with.

  • Fonts are shared by all the companies (entities) of a multi-company Dolibarr.
  • Switching the module off and on again keeps the fonts.
  • If a file is refused, check that it is a real .ttf or .otf font under 4 MB. Some fonts cannot be converted for PDF, in which case the message This font could not be converted for the PDF is shown: try another version of the font, for example the TrueType one.
